First-time ART users
The wizard and guide content break ART setup into clear steps so you can learn terminology, make decisions in order, and avoid skipped setup details.
Dirac Live ART (Active Room Treatment) involves a lot of interdependent setup values. ART Coach translates layout, speaker capability, and listening intent into structured starting values for Fsiso, Support Level, support ranges, and target curves. If you are new to ART, the 7-step flow shows what to set and why. If you already calibrate regularly, it keeps sessions repeatable and export-ready.
ART Coach is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Dirac Research AB.
Structured workflow
ART Coach is a parameter calculation engine with a 7-step wizard, support matrix, target curve guidance, and documentation-grade export.
Honest constraints
Results depend on room acoustics, placement, equipment capability, and measurement quality.

ART Coach is designed for people moving into ART workflows as well as users already running advanced calibration sessions in dedicated rooms. It helps you move from speaker data to clear entry values with less guesswork and better session consistency.
The wizard and guide content break ART setup into clear steps so you can learn terminology, make decisions in order, and avoid skipped setup details.
The wizard turns system details into a consistent parameter handoff so each session starts from clear values instead of scattered notes.
Intent presets and optional emphasis controls support both cinema impact and music integration without changing the core workflow.
Prerequisites
ART Coach exports what calibration sessions actually use: calculated group parameters, a condensed Setup Sheet or Detailed Configuration Reference, PDF and TXT files, clipboard text, and target curve points with a compatible import file.
Each speaker group lists Fsiso, then names every supporter with its own Support Level, F-support Low, and F-support High values for direct entry.
Example · Immersive Atmos · 7.3.4
> FRONT LEFT/RIGHT
Fsiso: 130 Hz
Center
Support Level: -24 dB
F-support Low: 55 Hz
F-support High: 105 Hz
Subwoofer 1
Support Level: -24 dB
F-support Low: 45 Hz
F-support High: 105 Hz
Subwoofer 2
Support Level: -22 dB
F-support Low: 20 Hz
F-support High: 55 HzThe Target Curve section prints the frequency and gain points applied to the selected LFE-reference subwoofer group, and export can also write a `.targetcurve` file for compatible import.
Example · Immersive Atmos · 7.3.4
Apply to: Subwoofer 1 10 Hz ............ +0.4 dB 20 Hz ............ +2.3 dB 31.5 Hz .......... +4 dB 63 Hz ............ +3.6 dB 120 Hz ........... +0.6 dB 160 Hz ........... -0.2 dB
Simple produces a condensed Setup Sheet. Detailed produces a Configuration Reference with speaker membership, support eligibility, bass regions, infra-bass guidance, and system notes. Both can be copied or exported as TXT or PDF.
Example · Immersive Atmos · 7.3.4
ART COACH · SETUP SHEET Intent: Immersive Atmos Layout: 7.3.4 Fsiso: 129 Hz Groups: 8 Sound Strategy: Cinema Focused Apply to: Subwoofer 1
The wizard follows a fixed sequence because each downstream output depends on choices made earlier in the session, starting with layout and capabilities.
01
Match the bed, sub, and height counts to the layout you are actually calibrating.
02
Enter -3 dB extension and placement details, use quick presets when helpful, and copy values from similar channels to speed setup.
03
Pick an intent preset for your listening goal, then optionally refine with emphasis controls such as Dialogue, Impact, or Custom.
04
Choose a grouping strategy, then verify group structure and support eligibility before entering any values in your calibration software.
05
Use the per-group values and support relationships exactly as shown in the handoff section.
06
Review frequency control points for the selected sub group and export a `.targetcurve` file when you do not want manual transcription.
07
Choose the format that fits the session: clipboard, TXT, PDF, or a documentation-ready setup sheet.
ART Coach is explicit about what it can and cannot claim. That clarity is part of why serious users can trust it in real calibration work.
ART Coach provides technical guidance and analytical tools, not guaranteed acoustic outcomes.
Final results still depend on room acoustics, placement, equipment capability, and measurement quality.
The parameters step warns that these settings increase demand on speakers and amplifiers, and tells users to back off if they hear strain or compression.
ART Coach is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Dirac Research AB.
Free mode includes the full calculation and export workflow. Pro adds workflow depth and convenience, not guaranteed performance. Third-party calibration software licensing is separate.

Direct answers to the setup questions behind the handoff: what each parameter permits, how groups affect the result, and what still needs validation in the room.
Fsiso is the upper frequency boundary of Dirac Live ART's active cooperation range. It defines how high in frequency speaker groups may support one another; it is not a bass-volume control.
Read guide →Support Level is an authority threshold for a supporter relationship. F-support Low and F-support High define the frequency window in which that supporter may contribute.
Read guide →A Dirac Live ART group shares correction parameters. Speakers belong together when their acoustic capability and intended role are compatible enough to use the same boundaries safely.
Read guide →A target curve is the tonal goal for correction, not a graph of the measured response. ART Coach produces a 12-point low-frequency starting curve and assigns it to the selected LFE-reference subwoofer group.
Read guide →The Simple Setup Sheet is a condensed parameter handoff. The Detailed Configuration Reference adds speaker membership, eligibility, bass-region, infra-bass, and system-note context.
Read guide →These answers are written for people evaluating ART Coach before their first ART run and for users who already calibrate regularly.
It is a calculation and export workspace for ART setup workflows. It helps you learn the setup flow while producing entry-ready values, and it does not replace room correction itself.
To apply ART Coach outputs in an actual calibration, you'll need Dirac Live® 3.x and an active ART license. ART Coach is still useful before that stage for planning layout, grouping, and workflow. To learn more, visit Dirac's official website at https://www.dirac.com to confirm whether your equipment supports ART, then follow Dirac's guidance for setup and license acquisition.
